General

Q. How will the gift basket arrive?

A. Your gift basket is carefully and skilfully wrapped in cellophane and decorated with ribbons. It is then placed into a brown cardboard box with the ‘BasketsGalore’ brand on it. The gift basket is further protected with bubble-wrap and foam pieces inside the box to protect the gift during delivery.

Q. Can I include a gift card message?

A. Yes of course you can. When you are taken through the order procedure, there is a text box to write your gift card message into. We then print this out and attach it into an appropriate gift card and send it along with your gift.

Ordering

Q. Can I pick a future delivery date for my gift basket?

A. This is not a problem. You can order from a few days to a few months in advance. Simply choose the standard delivery option (2-3 days) at the low cost of £6.99, and then select your desired delivery date from the calendar.

Q. Why am I asked to provide a telephone number for the recipient?

A. A working, local telephone number is asked for by good courier companies. This is simply in case of any problems with delivery, such as a difficulty in locating an address or if they cannot gain access to flats or a gated address.

Q. I have multiple baskets to order, all to different addresses. Is there a quick way to do this?

A. This is no problem. Simply go to our Corporate Order section and from there you can complete our quick Bulk Order Form.

Delivery

Q. Can the courier company ring the recipient in advance of delivery?

A. Unfortunately this is not common due to the large amount of parcels the courier company are delivering. Sometimes our Irish Courier may call in advance if the address is particularly remote, but we cannot guarantee this.

Q. What happens if the recipient is not at home when delivery is attempted?

A. Our gift baskets are delivered by the world’s leading courier companies such as DHL, UPS & Nightline. If the recipient is not at home the driver will post a calling card through their door. This lets the recipient know an attempt at delivery had been made and has the courier company’s telephone number on it. The recipient can then call and ask for delivery to be re-attempted on a day that suits. If the recipient contacts the courier before 5pm, delivery can be attempted the next day.

Q. Why can’t the driver leave the parcel on the porch or round the back of the house?

A. Unfortunately this is not standard practice, as a signature is required by the courier upon delivery. If the driver was to leave the parcel without a signature, it is not guaranteed that the recipient will receive it. They may be on holiday for example & the parcel would be left sitting out, or it could be lifted or misplaced.

Signatures also help if the parcel is delivered to a hospital or work address, as you can let the recipient know who has signed on their behalf.

Q. Why is the delivery option showing as £19.99 Remote Area?

A. If the delivery address is classified as an extended or remote area. Courier companies have a list of postcodes they classify as extended areas. This is to do with the distance between the nearest airport depot and the address. Remote areas take longer to reach (normally 48 hours, although some Highland areas or Islands can take 36 hours) and so couriers charge extra for these.

Q. Who do I contact if there is a delivery problem

A. When your gift basket is dispatched we will email you a tracking number, to allow you to track your delivery online. If you are aware of a delivery problem, then please reply to your order confirmation email that you received at the end of your purchase, with a brief outline of the problem. This email then goes through to our Customer Services Team, who will look into it immediately.

Payment

Q. Can I pay with an International Credit Card?

A. Certainly, we accept all international debit & credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard & American Express.

Q. Can I pay with an Irish Laser Card?

A. Yes, if you place the order on our Irish Website - www.basketsgalore.ie - as the prices are displayed in Euro on this site.

Q. I am based internationally & want to pay with Paypal, but the shipping address defaults to my own in the US, Canada, Australia etc.

A. This is a Paypal problem, as they don't allow a shipping address in a different country than your bank account or credit card. However, you are asked to enter the shipping address on our website before you pay with Paypal & this is the address we ship your gift to. When you place an order you will get a Paypal receipt, but also one from ourselves which will show you the correct shipping address. If you are still concerned, Paypal suggest entering the shipping address in their comments box. Or drop us a quick email & we will happily confirm the shipping address for your order.
